PlentyOfFish Review – My Review Of POF

I have done reviews on free dating sites before, such as Zoosk.com. Zoosk is not completely free however PlentyOfFish.com almost is. PlentyOfFish.com was a one-man show created by Markus friend from Canada. Plenty Of Fish actually has more members than Match.com, Singlesnet and is larger than most online dating sites. I think only EHarmony has more traffic going to it than PlentyOfFish does.

PlentyofFish has millions and millions of members located in Canada, the US, and the UK. They also becoming more popular in Australia, New Zealand and Ireland. Let's get to the review now.

(POF) PlentyOfFish Features

As with all my reviews I create a free basic membership so I could log in  and checkout of the features, and see what the site has to offer. Some of the various sections of PlentyOfFish include search, online now, help, meet me, chemistry, date night, my profile and the upgrade button.

  • The search button enables you to search based on gender, location, height, religion, education, marital status, and even zodiac sign. Those are the basic features. You can also use the advanced search options, and search based on profession, how much a much income a person has, and you can even search based on children. You can search to see if someone has children or if they don't. If you're a single parent looking for someone who is in a similar situation you can definitely find that on PlentyOfFish.
  • The online now feature is self-explanatory, you can basically see who is online at present time and how far they are located from your location.
  • The help feature basically has a FAQ and basically will be able to answer any questions or problems you have getting started on PlentyOfFish.
  • The meet me feature basically enables you to see a photograph of a PlentyOfFish member and you can click on a meet me button if you're interested in meeting that person. Once you click on the meet me button then you can send that person a message and meet in person with her or him.
  • The chemistry section basically is a long questionaire that you fill out, once you finish that form then PlentyOfFish automatically based on what you chose in the questionnaire will show you local matches.
  • The date night feature basically shows users who would like to go on a date. You're taken to 10 to 15 local user profiles and they each describe whatever date they are interested in going on.
  • The my profile button enables you to change your profile picture and you can adjust your dating profile, adding or deleting information on it.
  • The upgrade feature basically like most dating site enables you to upgrade. By upgrading your member profile you will be shown to local users on the top of the search results, when they search for people located close to them. This basically gives you a better chance of becoming noticed, as compared to being a free member of PlentyOfFish. Apparently only users who can "form and maintain long-term relationships are given the privilege of upgrading". I think personally that is a marketing strategy, so you're more inclined to pay to upgrade your dating membership. Realistically paying for dating membership on plenty of fish doesn't do you much good, from what I can tell.

So, what is my take on Plenty Of Fish? Overall the site is good, lots of features and POF definitely has millions of members worldwide. If you are looking for romance or casual dating this could be for you. What I suggest since you can create a free membership on PlentyOfFish, why not? Also I recommend you creating a free dating membership on Passion.com if you're interested in a more romantic type of relationship. So, create a free membership to both sites and see where you have the most success. Passion has millions of members worldwide as well, so I am sure you will be impressed with Passion.com as well.:)
